Rajasthan Conducts Major Police Reshuffle, Affecting 34 Senior IPS Officers
The Rajasthan government has initiated a significant reorganization of its police leadership, resulting in the transfer of 34 senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. The Department of Personnel issued the directives on Wednesday, marking one of the most substantial administrative changes in the state’s police force in recent history.
The comprehensive reassignment impacts numerous high-ranking officers at the Director General (DG) and Additional Director General (ADG) levels. A key structural change introduced is the establishment of a new DG-level position to oversee the combined functions of the Special Operations Group (SOG) and the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
Prominent Appointments in the Reshuffle
A major highlight of the transfer list is the appointment of Sachin Mittal, a 1996-batch IPS officer, as the new Police Commissioner of Jaipur. He succeeds Biju George Joseph, a 1995-batch officer, who has been reassigned to the position of Additional Director General of Police (Personnel).
