In a significant administrative shake-up, the Telangana government has transferred and appointed seven senior IPS officers to key leadership roles across the state. The changes, announced through a Government Order dated June 4, aim to strengthen policing in areas such as cybersecurity, CID, women’s safety, and district law enforcement.
Abhilasha Bisht Named Director of Telangana Police Academy
Senior IPS officer Abhilasha Bisht (1994 batch), who was awaiting a new posting, has been appointed Director of the RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy in Hyderabad. She succeeds V.V. Srinivasa Rao (1995 batch), who had been holding the post on an interim basis.
Shikha Goel to Lead Cybersecurity and Forensics
Shikha Goel (1994 batch), previously holding charge as DGP, CID, and known for her leadership in women’s safety initiatives, has now been appointed Director of the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau. She will also hold additional charge of the Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad, until further notice.
Charu Sinha Returns to Head CID and Women’s Safety Programs
After returning from Central deputation, Charu Sinha (1996 batch) has assumed charge as Additional Director General of Police, CID, replacing Goel. She will also oversee women-centric policing programs, including SHE Teams and Bharosa Centres, reinforcing the state’s commitment to gender-sensitive law enforcement.
Tafseer Iqubal Posted as DIG, Charminar Zone
Tafseer Iqubal (2008 batch), who was serving in the Minorities Welfare Department, has been posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Zone VI (Charminar), marking his return to active policing duties.
District-Level Postings: Changes in Medak, Komaram Bheem, and Hyderabad Zones
Key district-level appointments have also been made:
D.V. Srinivasa Rao (2013 batch) has been posted as Superintendent of Police (SP), Medak.
Patil Kantilal Subhash (2020 batch) will now serve as SP, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, replacing Srinivasa Rao.
S. Chaitanya Kumar (2020 batch) has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South East Zone, Hyderabad, succeeding Subhash.
These transfers and postings are part of the government’s effort to enhance operational efficiency, improve leadership at critical policing units, and reinforce law and order across Telangana.
