E. Sridhar to Oversee GAD; Sabyasachi Ghosh Heads Implementation Unit
In a fresh round of bureaucratic changes, the Telangana government on Friday announced the transfer and posting of eight IAS officers, introducing notable shifts in crucial departments such as Tribal Welfare, Transport, Animal Husbandry, and General Administration. The latest reshuffle, notified by the General Administration Department (GAD), is aimed at reinforcing administrative efficiency and advancing the state’s flagship welfare programs.
Sabyasachi Ghosh to Lead Implementation of Flagship Schemes
Senior IAS officer Sabyasachi Ghosh, who has been serving as Special Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry, has now been appointed as Special Chief Secretary, Implementation of Flagship Welfare and Development Schemes Unit.
In this new capacity, Ghosh will supervise and coordinate major welfare and development initiatives undertaken by the government to ensure timely and effective execution at all levels.
Anita Ramachandran Assigned Tribal Welfare Portfolio
Anita Ramachandran, currently Secretary, Women and Child Welfare Department, has been entrusted with Full Additional Charge (FAC) of Secretary, Tribal Welfare Department, and Commissioner, Tribal Welfare.
Her expanded role is designed to integrate policy implementation across multiple social sectors, promoting cohesion between programs for women, children, and tribal populations.
Ilambarathi Becomes Transport Commissioner
In another key development, Ilambarathi, earlier Secretary, Metropolitan Area and Urban Development, has been posted as Transport Commissioner, succeeding M. Raghunandan Rao, who previously held the post as an additional charge.
The new posting is expected to strengthen the operational and regulatory framework of the Transport Department, particularly in areas related to public mobility and vehicle administration.
E. Sridhar to Handle General Administration Department
Following the voluntary retirement of S.A.M. Rizvi on October 31, E. Sridhar, Secretary, BC Welfare Department, has been given Full Additional Charge as Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD).
Sridhar’s appointment ensures administrative continuity and oversight within the department, which serves as the state’s central coordination hub for governance and personnel management.
Other Key Appointments in Development and Welfare Sectors
S.K. Yasmeen Basha, Director of Horticulture and Sericulture, has been assigned FAC as Managing Director, TGOILFED, replacing J. Shankariah, who has been moved to another role.
G. Jitender, CEO, Adilabad Zilla Parishad, has been appointed Special Commissioner, Scheduled Castes Development (SCD), relieving N. Kshitija of the additional charge. Jitender will also serve as VC & MD, Scheduled Castes Cooperative Development Corporation Limited.
B. Saidulu, Secretary, MJPTBCWREIS, will hold FAC as Special Secretary (Implementation of Flagship Welfare and Development Schemes Unit).
Administrative Overhaul to Strengthen Policy Delivery
Officials described the reshuffle as part of a broader realignment of the state’s administrative machinery to accelerate decision-making, enhance inter-departmental coordination, and improve the delivery of welfare schemes.
The latest appointments are seen as a strategic step toward ensuring consistent execution of the Telangana government’s development agenda and welfare initiatives across key sectors.
