IAS officer Tina Soni, from the 2007 batch, has returned to her parent Rajasthan cadre after over seven years on central deputation. She is expected to be appointed to a significant role within the state soon.
Soni most recently served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Fertilisers, where she worked under Fertiliser Secretary Rajat Kumar Mishra—also a Rajasthan cadre officer. During her career, she has held several key positions in Rajasthan, including BIP Commissioner, Additional Commissioner of Commercial Tax, and District Collector in Bhilwara, Tonk, and Pratapgarh. At the Centre, she previously served as Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat.
Meanwhile, her husband, IPS officer Satyendra Kumar (also from the 2007 batch), has been empanelled for the post of Inspector General (IG) to serve in central government assignments. He is currently posted as Director in NITI Aayog, a role he is expected to continue until September 2025.
In addition to Kumar, two of his batchmates—Kailash Chandra Bishnoi and Barhat Rahul Manhardan—have also been empanelled as IGs. Bishnoi is presently serving as DIG in the Jaipur Development Authority, while Barhat serves as Protector of Emigrants (PoE) in Mumbai under the Ministry of External Affairs. The PoE Mumbai office handles emigration clearance for individuals from regions including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Daman & Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Madhya Pradesh.
