The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has instructed the Uttar Pradesh government to initiate disciplinary proceedings against senior IPS officer Aditya Mishra, currently serving as the Director General of Fire Services in the state.
Action Under AIS Discipline Rules
Mr. Mishra, a 1989-batch IPS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, allocated to Uttar Pradesh, will face departmental action under Rule 8 of the All India Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1969. The directive stems from alleged irregularities in a tender agreement during his central deputation tenure.
Background and Career Highlights
Born on June 30, 1965, Mr. Mishra holds a Master’s degree in Economics. He was appointed Chairman of the Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) in November 2019, and returned to his parent cadre in January 2025 upon completing his central posting.
During his time at the LPAI, he was credited with leading major infrastructure projects, including:
The passenger terminal and Maitri Dwar at Petrapole, along the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal
Uttar Pradesh’s first land port at Rupaidiha in Bahraich district, on the Indo-Nepal border
Tender Irregularities Prompt Inquiry
According to official sources, Mr. Mishra will soon be served a formal notice, seeking his response to the allegations. A senior government official described the move as a “routine disciplinary measure” based on the findings of procedural violations in tender processes.
