UP witnesses major IPS shifting in the state, Key officers reassigned

The Uttar Pradesh government has transferred 14 IPS officers, including district police heads, in a significant administrative move. The reshuffle impacts Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Muzaffarnagar, and other key regions, with orders issued late Monday night.

Among the notable changes:

  • Mohit Gupta, Inspector General of Police (Varanasi Range), has been appointed Secretary (Home) in the Uttar Pradesh Government.
  • Raj Karan Nayyar, SSP Ayodhya, has been reassigned as SSP Gorakhpur, while Dr. Gaurav Grover, SSP Gorakhpur, will take over as SSP Ayodhya.
  • Sanjay Kumar, SSP Etawah, will now serve as SSP Muzaffarnagar.
  • Senior officers at the DIG and SP levels have also been moved to different districts and ranges, adjusting leadership across law enforcement divisions.

The transfers reflect a continued effort to streamline administrative efficiency within Uttar Pradesh’s police force.
