IAS Rohit Meena Named Additional Secretary, Medical Health & Medical Education
In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Uttarakhand government has reassigned key responsibilities to two IAS officers and one Secretariat Service officer, bringing an end to their extended period of compulsory waiting. The transfers were formalized through Order No. 556 / XXX-1-2025, issued by the Personnel and Vigilance Department (Section-01) on Wednesday.
Among the key appointments is IAS Rohit Meena (2014 batch), who has been designated Additional Secretary in the Department of Medical Health and Medical Education. Meena, who recently returned from a study leave abroad, had been awaiting a posting since reporting back to the Personnel Department.
IAS Narendra Singh Bhandari (2016 batch) has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Planning Department. Like Meena, Bhandari had also been in a state of compulsory waiting after returning to the state and had not been assigned a substantive role until now.
In another significant appointment, Santosh Badoni, a Secretariat Service officer recently promoted to the rank of Additional Secretary, has been entrusted with responsibilities in the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department.
These appointments end a prolonged phase of administrative uncertainty for the officers and are expected to bring renewed energy and focus to their respective departments.
