NCRB Chief to Oversee Police Research Bureau Until Further Orders

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has assigned additional charge of Director General, Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) to Alok Ranjan, a 1991-batch IPS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, currently serving as Director of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).

This development comes in the wake of the repatriation of IPS Rajeev Kumar Sharma—a 1990-batch officer of the Rajasthan cadre—who has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Rajasthan. As per the official order, Alok Ranjan will hold the additional charge of BPR&D until a regular appointment is made or until further instructions are issued.
