Success Is Defined by Character, Not Just Marks, Says Uttarakhand DG Information Banshidhar Tiwari at Times Achievers 2026
Delivering a powerful message on the true meaning of success, Uttarakhand Director General (Information) Banshidhar Tiwari urged students to look beyond examination scores and academic rankings, saying that lasting success is built on knowledge, character, discipline and a strong sense of social responsibility rather than marks alone.
Addressing students, parents, teachers and educationists at the Times Achievers 2026 programme held at the Municipal Corporation Town Hall Auditorium in Dehradun, the senior IAS officer encouraged young people to focus on becoming responsible citizens with integrity and compassion. He stressed that while academic excellence is important, it represents only one aspect of a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Tiwari, a 2016-batch promotee IAS officer, currently serves as the Director General (Information), Uttarakhand, and also holds the additional responsibility of Vice-Chairman of the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA). His address centered on the need for students to develop strong moral values alongside professional ambitions, a message that resonated with the audience gathered to celebrate academic achievement.
Success Is a Lifelong Journey, Not an Overnight Achievement
