Sagar Singh Kalsi Appointed Director in Ministry of Power
The second decision concerns Sagar Singh Kalsi, a 2010-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre. Kalsi has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Power on a lateral shift basis. His appointment has been approved up to February 23, 2030.
The order was issued on September 17, 2026, and marks a change in his central government assignment. Through the lateral shift, Kalsi will move into a Director-level position in the Ministry of Power. The approved tenure of the new assignment extends until February 23, 2030.

Sagar Singh Kalsi belongs to the 2010 batch of the Indian Police Service and is an AGMUT cadre officer. His appointment as Director in the Ministry of Power represents a fresh responsibility at the Centre. The posting has been specifically described as a lateral shift, with the tenure approved through February 23, 2030.
The September 17, 2026 order sets out the administrative basis and tenure of the new assignment. Deepak Grewal Deputed to Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation

Grewal’s deputation is different from both the other cases in the latest set of orders. He is not being repatriated to a parent cadre, nor is he being moved to another Central Government ministry on a lateral shift basis. Instead, his case involves deputation to a state-level rail infrastructure development corporation.

The Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited is a state-level organisation associated with rail infrastructure development in Haryana.
Grewal’s three-year deputation will place a 1998-batch IRSEE officer within the organisation for the approved period.
