The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has relieved three IPS officers of the AGMUT cadre following their transfer orders issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). In light of these departures, the administration has made interim arrangements to ensure continuity of operations at key posts.
Officers Relieved of Duties
As per the official notification:
Umesh Kumar (2008-batch IPS) – Former DIG Training, Police Headquarters
Sanjeev Yadav (2013-batch IPS) – Former Staff Officer to the IGP, Technical Services
Sandeep Gupta (2015-batch IPS) – Former AIG Technical, Police Headquarters
All three officers have been transferred out of Jammu and Kashmir as per MHA directives.
Interim Appointments Made
To fill the resulting vacancies, the department has assigned additional responsibilities to the following senior officers:
Mubashir Latifi, currently DIG Personnel, will also hold additional charge as DIG Training.
Azhar Bashir Baba, AIG Crime and Complaints, has been assigned the role of Staff Officer to the IGP, Technical Services.
Al Tahir, Director General of Police (SO), will now additionally serve as AIG Technical, Police Headquarters.
These temporary arrangements will remain in effect until further orders. The reshuffle comes as part of ongoing administrative transitions aimed at maintaining smooth functioning within the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department.
