8 Ministries Appoint New Officers at Key Joint Secretary-Level Administrative Posts

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has cleared new Joint Secretary-level appointments across Legal Affairs, Mines, Minority Affairs, Renewable Energy, NITI Aayog, LBSNAA, Ports, Power, and the Prime Minister’s Office, strengthening governance and administrative leadership.

The ACC has approved the following appointments of officers at the level of Joint Secretary and equivalent, with pay fixed at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix:

Shri Ramesha G, IRS (IT) (2005), has been appointed as Incharge (JS level), Central Agency Section, Department of Legal Affairs. His overall tenure shall extend for five years, up to 29 May 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Ms. Reeta Vasishta, ILS.

Shri Kulveer Singh Yadav, IOFS (2002), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines. His tenure shall be for five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Dinesh Mahur, ITS (1992).

Shri Mohammad Afzal, CPES (1995), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs. His overall tenure shall extend for five years, up to 3 October 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Shersha, CSS.

Shri Anupam Kumar, IAS (Bihar: 2003), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. His tenure shall be for five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Sanjay Chilwarwar, IRSSE (1997).

Shri Pradeep Singh, IFoS (Gujarat: 2005), has been appointed as Adviser (JS level), NITI Aayog. His combined tenure shall extend for seven years, up to 9 February 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Jayant Singh, IRTS (1993).

Ms. Shanmuga Priya Mishra, IAS (Madhya Pradesh: 2010), has been appointed as Joint Director (JS level), Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), under the Department of Personnel and Training. Her combined tenure shall extend for five years, up to 26 February 2029, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This appointment has been made by temporarily upgrading the post held by the officer from DS/Director level to Joint Secretary level in LBSNAA for an initial period of two years.

Shri Ganesh Shankar Mishra, IAS (Madhya Pradesh: 2010), has been appointed as Joint Director (JS level), Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), under the Department of Personnel and Training. His combined tenure shall extend for five years, up to 26 February 2029, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Udit Agrawal, IAS (Gujarat: 2008).

Shri Harmit Singh Pahuja, IAS (Manipur: 2010), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training. His combined tenure shall extend for seven years, up to 17 November 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This appointment has been made by temporarily upgrading the post held by the officer from DS/Director level to Joint Secretary level.

Shri Venkatesapathy S, IAS (Kerala: 2009), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. His overall tenure shall extend for five years, up to 1 May 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shri Praveen P. Nair, IAS (Tamil Nadu: 2010), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. His combined tenure shall extend for five years, up to 10 July 2029, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri R. Lakshmanan, IAS (Bihar: 2004).

Shri Pankaj Kumar, IAS (Uttar Pradesh: 2002), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power. His tenure shall be for five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Mohammad Afzal, CPES (1995).

Shri Hardik Satishchandra Shah, IAS (Gujarat: 2010), has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Prime Minister (Joint Secretary level), Prime Minister’s Office. His appointment shall be on a co-terminus basis, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, from the date of assumption of charge of the post.
