The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has sanctioned the following appointments of officers at the level of Joint Secretary and equivalent, with pay fixed at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix:
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved new Joint Secretary-level postings across Industry, Revenue, Road Transport, Social Justice, Space, Telecom, Textiles, Tourism, Tribal Affairs, and the Clean Ganga Mission, reinforcing governance and leadership in critical sectors.
Ms. Kajal, IAS (Uttar Pradesh: 2008), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. Her combined tenure shall extend for seven years, up to 12 April 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Ms. Sandhya Bhullar, IAS (Gujarat: 2003).
Shri Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, IAS (Punjab: 2009), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. His combined tenure shall extend for five years, up to 2 April 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Sanjiv, IRS (IT: 1993).
Shri Rohan Chand Thakur, IAS (Himachal Pradesh: 2009), has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (JS level), National Land Monetization Corporation (NLMC), under the Department of Public Enterprises. His combined tenure shall extend for five years, up to 27 February 2030, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Vikas Anand, IAS (UT: 2002).
Shri Shankar Lal Kumawat, IAS (Tamil Nadu: 2010), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Revenue. His combined tenure shall extend for five years, up to 2 March 2030, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Naval Kishore Ram, IAS (Maharashtra: 2008). This appointment cancels the earlier order appointing Shri Shailesh Bagauli, IAS (Uttarakhand: 2002), as Joint Secretary, Department of Revenue, vide ACC order No. 33/12/2025‑EO(SM‑I) dated 31 December 2025.
Shri Udit Agrawal, IAS (Gujarat: 2008), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. His combined tenure shall extend for five years, up to 31 January 2030, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Vinay Kumar, IAS (Bihar: 1999).
Shri Sanjay Chilwarwar, IRSSE (1997), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. His overall tenure shall extend up to the date of his superannuation on 31 August 2029, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Ms. Latha Ganapathy, IAS (Tamil Nadu: 2007).
Shri Saravanan M, IAS (Bihar: 2002), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Space. His tenure shall be for five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This appointment has been made by temporarily downgrading a vacant Additional Secretary post in the Department to Joint Secretary level.
Shri K. Balaji, IAS (Uttar Pradesh: 2010), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Telecommunications. His combined tenure shall extend for five years, up to 27 April 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Sunil Kumar Verma, IRSSE (1995).
Ms. Alaknanda Dayal, IAS (Punjab: 2000), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Textiles. Her tenure shall be for five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Ajay Gupta, IRSS (1993). This appointment has been made by utilising the sanctioned post of Commissioner of Payments at the level of Joint Secretary under the Ministry.
Shri Suvasish Das, IFoS (Assam: 2005), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism. His combined tenure shall extend for five years, up to 6 June 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Mebanshailang R. Synrem, IAS (Assam: 2002).
Ms. Pratima Satish Kumar Verma, IAS (Bihar: 2002), has been appointed as Commissioner (JS level), National Education Society for Tribal Affairs (NESTS), under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Her tenure shall be for five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Ms. Rashi Sharma, IPoS (2003), has been appointed as Executive Director (Administration) (JS level), National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), under the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation. Her tenure shall be for five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, succeeding Shri Satya Prakash Vashishth, IFoS (Assam: 1994).
