KS Sreenivasa Raju, a senior IAS officer of the 1999 batch from the Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Principal Secretary in the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). The former Executive Officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), who opted for voluntary retirement (VRS) in 2024, will now be responsible for overseeing key infrastructure and project-related initiatives under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Following his retirement, Mr. Raju was briefly appointed as Advisor to the Chief Minister, signaling his continued relevance in the state’s administrative affairs. His return to a top bureaucratic role aligns with the Telangana government’s focus on infrastructure expansion and efficient project execution.

A highly experienced bureaucrat, Raju previously served as Principal Secretary of the Roads and Buildings Department in Telangana for four years. He was deputed to the Telangana cadre in 2019, after Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy assumed office as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

After his deputation ended in March 2024, Mr. Raju sought an extension by petitioning the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). However, in the absence of central approval, he returned to his parent cadre in Andhra Pradesh. Despite attempts to reclaim the TTD Executive Officer post, he was unsuccessful and subsequently opted for voluntary retirement, which was cleared by the Centre in June 2024.

His latest appointment as Principal Secretary is widely viewed as a strategic move by the Revanth Reddy-led government to capitalize on Raju’s administrative acumen, particularly in managing large-scale infrastructure and development projects.
