As per the Indian Government’s notifications issued on Wednesday, key appointments witness assignment of new responsibilities to four seniors IAS officers.
The following administrative appointments and notifications were announced on Wednesday, May 01, 2025:

Rachna Shah (IAS: 1991: KL), currently serving as Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training, has been given additional charge of the roles of Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, and Secretary, Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare. This temporary assignment, effective from May 1 to May 9, 2025, comes during the leave of V Srinivas (IAS: 1989: RJ).

S Chaitanya (IPS: 2011: MH), presently Assistant Director at the National Police Academy (NPA), has been appointed Deputy Director, with the post upgraded temporarily to accommodate the appointment.

Siva Prasad Yellasiri (IPS: 2011: SK), also serving as Assistant Director in NPA, has similarly been appointed Deputy Director, through a temporary upgrade of the post.

Sunil Kumar Verma (IRSSE: 1995), Joint Secretary in the Department of Telecommunications, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.
