Maneesh Kumar, a 2011-batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer from the Maharashtra cadre, has been re-designated as Director in the Ministry of Mines. He had been serving as Deputy Secretary in the same ministry.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Tuesday confirming the re-designation, stating that the competent authority has approved the change effective from the date Kumar assumes charge of the upgraded role. His tenure as Director will now extend until January 13, 2027.
Kumar commenced his central deputation on January 14, 2021, and has been holding the position of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry since March 26, 2024.
