The Government of India has appointed two senior officers – Bidyarani Konthoujam (IRS) and Manoj C (IPS) – as Directors in the Election Commission of India (ECI), New Delhi, under the Central Staffing Scheme. Both officers will serve a five-year term in their new roles.
The appointments, approved by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), are part of efforts to strengthen the ECI’s administrative framework as it oversees the nation’s electoral processes.
Bidyarani Konthoujam (IRS) Joins ECI as Director
A 2009-batch Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officer, Konthoujam’s deputation was recommended by the Department of Revenue. She will assume her new role for a period of five years or until further orders. The DoPT has directed her immediate relief from current duties to facilitate a smooth transition.
Manoj C (IPS) Appointed Director in ECI
Manoj C, a 2011-batch IPS officer from the AGMUT cadre, has been assigned to the ECI on the recommendation of the Ministry of Home Affairs. He will also serve a five-year tenure and has been instructed to join his position promptly.
