Namgyal Angmo Appointed Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri, Arunachal Pradesh

In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Government of Arunachal Pradesh has issued transfer and posting orders for several IAS and APCS officers. Among the key changes, Ms. Namgyal Angmo, a 2020-batch Indian Administrative Service officer from the AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri district. She succeeds Mr. Vivek HP, who has been assigned the role of Secretary, Health.

Meet IAS Namgyal Angmo
Ms. Namgyal Angmo hails from Nimoo village in Leh, Ladakh. A member of the 2020 IAS batch, she was born on June 20, 1992, and secured an All India Rank of 323 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination at the age of 27.

Her educational journey is both impressive and global in scope. She completed her early education at Moravian Mission School and Lamdon School, Leh. She later studied at United World College in Pune, earned her undergraduate degree in the United States, and went on to pursue a postgraduate degree in Economics from the prestigious Delhi School of Economics.

Before joining the civil services, Ms. Angmo gained professional experience in the corporate sector in Bengaluru. She began her administrative career as Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Kapashera, Delhi. In September 2024, she was appointed Deputy Commissioner of the Najafgarh Zone under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. As of June 2025, she assumes charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri district in Arunachal Pradesh.

Known for her strong work ethic, resilience, and focus on accountability, Ms. Angmo is widely respected for her commitment to public service. Her leadership style reflects a deep commitment to inclusive governance and administrative excellence, making her an inspiring figure for aspiring civil servants across the country.
