Appointment of 16 officers to the rank of Joint Secy & equivalent

The Central Government has cleared the appointment of 16 senior officers to the rank of Joint Secretary and equivalent posts across multiple ministries and departments, marking a significant administrative reshuffle. The list includes officers from prestigious services such as the IAS, IRS, IRPS, ISS, IOFS, IA&AS, and others.

According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), these new postings aim to bring diverse administrative experience and cadre balance to the top echelons of the bureaucracy. Notably, two officers — Ms Hema Jaiswal (ISS) and Mr Lokesh Kumar Sharma (IOFS) — have been assigned as Executive Directors in the Food Corporation of India (FCI), signaling the Centre’s continued emphasis on food management and the public distribution system.

Details of the Newly Appointed Officers

Ms Sonal Bajaj, IRS (C&IT: 1998) – Appointed as Director (Finance), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL), Department of Atomic Energy, Mumbai, for a period of five years or until further orders.

Mr Jai Prakash Pandey, IRPS (2003) – Will serve as Joint Director General (JS rank), Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, for a total tenure of seven years ending February 2027.

Mr Brij Mohan Mishra, IAS (UT: 2008) – Assigned as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, for five years ending November 2026.

Mr Neeraj Kharwal, IAS (UD: 2007) – Appointed as Managing Director (JS level), India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) under the Department of Commerce, for five years.

Mr Sudeep Shrivastava, IRSSE (2001) – To serve as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, for five years.

Mr Siljo V. K., ISS (2004) – Appointed as Deputy Director General (DDG), Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), under the Ministry of Electronics and IT, for a tenure of five years.

Mr Manish Tiwari, IRTS (1995) – Appointed as Joint Secretary, Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA), under the Department of Food and Public Distribution, till his retirement in September 2029.

Mr Lokesh Kumar Sharma, IOFS (1998) – Appointed as Executive Director, Food Corporation of India (FCI), under the Department of Food and Public Distribution, for five years.

Ms Hema Jaiswal, ISS (2004) – Appointed as Executive Director, Food Corporation of India (FCI), for a tenure of five years.

Mr Harsh Mangla, IAS (JH: 2008) – Appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, for five years ending January 2027.

Mr Gaya Prasad, ISS (1996) – Assigned as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, till July 2028.

Ms Shruti Singh, IAS (PB: 2004) – Appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, for a five-year term.

Ms Roli Shukla Malge, IA&AS (2002) – Appointed as Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer (FA & CAO), Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Ministry of Labour and Employment, for five years.

This large-scale round of appointments, which includes six IAS officers and several from other central services, underscores the government’s ongoing effort to infuse diverse administrative expertise and leadership across critical policy areas such as commerce, health, aviation, technology, and labour.
