Chhattisgarh Government Transfers 43 IAS Officers; Seven District Collectors Replaced in Major Bureaucratic Overhaul

In one of the most extensive administrative reshuffles in recent years, the Chhattisgarh government has transferred 43 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, including seven District Collectors, while reorganizing several key departments. The order was issued from Mahanadi Bhawan in Nava Raipur under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, with the stated objective of strengthening governance, improving efficiency, and streamlining departmental functioning across the state.

 Top-Level Administrative Changes

The reshuffle has brought significant changes at the level of Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Commissioners. Notable appointments include:

Richa Sharma as Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department.

Manoj Kumar Pingua assigned charge of the Forest and Climate Change Department.

Niharika Barik appointed Principal Secretary, Home and Jails Department.

Shahla Nigar given additional responsibility of Social Welfare alongside Women and Child Development.

 Key Departmental Reassignments

Several crucial departments have seen fresh postings:

Dr. Rohit Yadav moved to the Finance Department as Secretary.

Kamalpreet Singh appointed to the School Education Department.

Pardeshi Siddharth Komal posted to Agriculture and as Agriculture Production Commissioner.

Subodh Kumar Singh appointed Principal Secretary, Energy Department and Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Power Company.

Mukesh Kumar Bansal now handles Public Works and Commercial Taxes (excluding excise and registration).

R. Sangeetha shifted to Urban Administration and Development.

Shammi Abidi moved to Revenue and Disaster Management.

S. Bharathidasan takes charge of Tourism, Culture and Endowments.

Seven districts witnessed changes in leadership at the Collector level:

Vishwadeep – Collector of Bijapur.

Pushpa Sahu – Collector of Koriya.

Santosh Kumar Dewangan – Collector of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi.

Chandan Sanjay Tripathi – Collector of Balrampur-Ramanujganj.

Santan Devi Jangde – Collector of Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur.

Reena Jamil – Collector of Surajpur.

Padmini Bhoi Sahu – Collector of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh.

 Raipur and Urban Administration Updates

Shyam Lal Dhawade appointed Commissioner of Raipur Division.

Sambit Mishra takes charge as Commissioner of Raipur Municipal Corporation.

Rahul Venkat – Secretary, Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission.

Rita Yadav – Secretary, Board of Secondary Education.

Sanjay Kannauje – Director, Culture.
