CBI: IPS Harsha Vardhan Appointed as SP in CBI

Senior IPS officer Harsha Vardhan (2012 batch, AGMUT cadre) has been appointed as Superintendent of Police in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on deputation for a period of five years, as per a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge, or until further notice, whichever is earlier.

Currently posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Central Delhi, Harsha Vardhan brings extensive field-level experience to his new role. Notably, he served as Superintendent of Police in Arunachal Pradesh from December 2017 to February 2021, where he was recognized for his hands-on approach and effective leadership.

An alumnus of BITS Pilani, where he earned a degree in Computer Science Engineering, Vardhan is widely regarded for his disciplined service and innovative policing methods implemented across diverse assignments.
