J&K: 12 Senior Officers Appointed as District Mentors Amid Border Tensions with Pakistan

In light of escalating tensions along the Indo-Pak border, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has designated 12 senior officers, including 9 IAS, 1 IFS, and 2 JKAS officials, as District Mentors to enhance governance, coordination, and crisis preparedness across the Union Territory.

Strategic Bureaucratic Deployment

The appointments aim to reinforce district-level oversight and ensure effective communication between local administration and the UT government during this volatile period. The mentors are tasked with supervising developmental and security-related matters while facilitating swift administrative response in their assigned regions.

Key Highlights of the Deployment:

  • IAS Officers (9), IFS Officer (1), and JKAS Officers (2) make up the newly appointed mentor team.

  • Eight IAS officers have already been assigned to their respective districts as part of a broader mobilization initiative.

  • H Rajesh Prasad (IAS:1995:AGMUT) – Budgam

  • Santosh Dattatraya Vaidya (IAS:1998:AGMUT) – Pulwama

  • Saurabh Bhagat (IAS:2002:AGMUT) – Ganderbal

  • Sheetal Nanda (IAS:2006:AGMUT) – Udhampur

  • Neeraj Kumar (IAS) – Kulgam

  • Prasanna Ramaswamy G (IAS:2010:AGMUT) – Shopian

  • Talat Parvez Rohella (IAS:2010:AGMUT) – Doda
