Delhi Bureaucracy Shakeup: 14 Adhoc DANICS Officers Transferred with Major Revenue Department Reshuffle

The Delhi government has launched another major administrative shakeup, transferring and reassigning 14 Adhoc DANICS (Delhi, Andaman – Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman – Diu and Dadra – Nagar Haveli Civil Service) officers with immediate effect. Issued by the state Services Department, these strategic orders come hot on the heels of a massive bureaucratic overhaul just a day prior, which saw 60 IAS and DANICS officers shifted across the National Capital Territory.

This latest micro-reshuffle aims to tighten local administrative machinery, zeroing in heavily on the frontline Revenue Department, the Police Complaints Authority, the Prisons department, the Trade – Taxes wing, and the state’s Election branches.

By strategically swapping field officers and headquarters staff, the administration is pushing for cleaner urban governance and faster public delivery systems across Delhi’s crowded districts.

The Revenue Backbone: Fresh Face-Off for Delhi’s SDMs

The absolute core of this administrative rejig hits the Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs). These officers are the direct public face of the Delhi government, managing everything from land disputes and law and order to local disaster management and citizen services.

The Revenue Department has received a major facelift with a series of new field commanders:

Yash Pal: Shipped out from his post as SDM of Patparganj to take over the high-pressure zone of SDM Patel Nagar.

Subhash Chand: Steps in as the new SDM for Kirari.

Kuldip Singh Dhama: Appointed as the new SDM for Model Town.

Jagdish Prasad Meena: Takes charge as the SDM for Karawal Nagar.

Dinesh Jha: Moves into headquarters as SDM (HQ)-West-I.

Sushila: Posted as SDM (HQ) for New Delhi district.

Key Specialized Postings: Prisons, Police Complaints, and Elections

Beyond the territorial subdivisions, several crucial independent cells and regulatory wings saw leadership changes to fix operational backlogs.

Concurrently, Arvind Kumar and Dheeraj Sharma have both been posted as Value Added Tax Officers (VATOs) within the Trade – Taxes Department. These officers will be at the frontlines of commercial tax compliance, corporate audits, and local marketplace monitoring.

The Retirement Catch: Why Two Officers Aren’t Moving

In a highly pragmatic move, the Services Department introduced a specific clause for two veteran officers who are right on the edge of completing their long careers.

The government noted that Rajvir Singh (a regular 2021-batch DANICS officer) will continue functioning as SDM (HQ) West without any disruption. Similarly, Rajender Kumar Ahuja (Adhoc DANICS) will remain untouched as SDM (HQ) New Delhi.

Both individuals will hold onto their current desks until they officially reach their dates of superannuation and retire. Bureaucratic insiders point out that moving officers with just weeks or months left of service creates unnecessary disruptions in active files, making this retention order a smart move for administrative continuity.

Streamlining the National Capital

With the Services Department ordering all 14 transferred officials to take up their new desks immediately, the Delhi government is trying to wrap up its massive seasonal administrative cleanup. By pairing this targeted list with the larger 60-officer transfer order executed just a day earlier, the administration is attempting to build a highly responsive, friction-free bureaucratic setup across the city before the next major policy cycles kick off.
