Simultaneously to the appointment of the new Chief Election Commissioner of India, Election Commissioner has also been appointed in the ECI with the selection of Dr Vivek Joshi.
A year 1989 batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre, Dr Vivek Joshi is currently serving as Chief Secretary in the Government of Haryana. The newly appointed Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India, Dr Joshi has also worked in Govt of India as Secretary, Department of Financial Service and Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) prior to being repatriated to Cadre as Chief Secretary in Haryana on 01.11.2024.
