IAS Saumya Pandey Receives Best Officer Award at LBSNAA

Bringing pride to Uttar Pradesh and the civil services community, 2016 batch IAS officer Saumya Pandey has been awarded the Best Officer Award during the 22nd Mid-Career Training Program (MCTP) at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA).

The accolade was presented by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who commended her leadership, dedication, and outstanding contributions to public service.

A Trail of Academic and Administrative Distinction

Currently serving as Additional Labour Commissioner in Kanpur, Ms. Saumya Pandey is known for her analytical approach and effective administrative strategies. Hailing from Prayagraj, she is a gold medalist from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), where she completed her B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

Her journey into the civil services was equally stellar—securing All India Rank 4 in the 2016 UPSC Civil Services Examination, one of the most competitive exams in the country.

Supportive Roots and Strong Values

Saumya belongs to a highly educated and encouraging family in Prayagraj. Her mother, Dr. Sadhana Pandey, is a gynecologist and hospital owner, while her father, Dr. Ravi Pandey, serves as a college manager. Their support has been instrumental in shaping her academic and professional path.

Known for her calm demeanor, strategic thinking, and impactful work, Saumya Pandey’s triple honors at LBSNAA underscore her growing stature as a leader in governance. Her peers and mentors view her as a role model for aspiring administrators.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised her contributions, stating,
