Following the recommendation, the Competent Authority approved her appointment as Director in the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) under the DoPT.
Her tenure will be five years from the date she assumes charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Immediate Relieving Ordered
The DoPT has requested the Ministry of Railways to relieve Ms. Verma from her present assignment without delay so that she can take charge of her new responsibilities in the National Recruitment Agency at the earliest.
The communication has been addressed to Railway Board Chairman Shri Satish Kumar, directing that the officer be relieved immediately to facilitate her joining in Delhi.
Three-Week Joining Deadline
The Office Memorandum reiterates the provisions of the DoPT’s Circular dated August 17, 2005, regarding appointments under the Central Staffing Scheme.
Under these guidelines, officers appointed on Central deputation are required to join their new assignment within three weeks from the date of issuance of the appointment order.
The order also states that failure to join within the stipulated period may lead to initiation of debarment proceedings from the Central Staffing Scheme, in accordance with the existing rules.
National Recruitment Agency’s Growing Role
The National Recruitment Agency (NRA) has been established by the Government of India to streamline recruitment for various Central Government jobs by conducting a Common Eligibility Test (CET) for specified categories of posts.
Operating under the administrative control of the Department of Personnel and Training, the agency is expected to simplify recruitment procedures, reduce the burden of multiple examinations on candidates and improve transparency and efficiency in the hiring process.
As Director, Ms. Mansi Verma is expected to contribute to the administrative and operational functioning of the agency as it continues to strengthen India’s central recruitment framework.
Experienced IRPS Officer Joins DoPT
Ms. Mansi Verma belongs to the Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) 2012 batch, one of the Group ‘A’ civil services responsible for managing human resource administration across the Indian Railways.
With her appointment, she joins a growing list of senior civil servants being inducted into key Central Government positions under the Central Staffing Scheme to strengthen governance and institutional capacity across ministries and departments.
DoPT Issues Official Memorandum
The appointment order has been signed by Ajit Kumar Ranjan, Deputy Secretary to the Government of India, in the Office of the Establishment Officer, DoPT.
Copies of the memorandum have been forwarded to the Department of Personnel and Training, the Ministry of Railways, and other concerned authorities for necessary action, including issuance of the formal notification after Ms. Verma assumes charge.
