J&K Government Reshuffles 12 IAS, IPS and JKAS Officers; Mir Tariq Ali Appointed Secretary, Civil Aviation

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has ordered a fresh bureaucratic reshuffle involving 12 IAS, IPS and Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers, bringing changes to key departmental responsibilities and field-level assignments across the Union Territory.

The orders, issued by the Lieutenant Governor in the interest of administration, include additional charges for senior IAS and IPS officers, fresh departmental postings for two IAS officers and the transfer of six JKAS officers to new assignments. Among the prominent changes, Mir Tariq Ali has been appointed Secretary, Civil Aviation Department.

The reshuffle covers several important administrative areas, including Agriculture Production, Power Development, Mining, Civil Aviation, Forest, Ecology and Environment, School Education and district administration.

Six IAS and IPS Officers Receive New Responsibilities

Under the first government order, three senior officers have been entrusted with additional departmental responsibilities, while two IAS officers have been transferred to new positions. Another IAS officer has been assigned an additional charge alongside her existing responsibilities.

The order was issued by M. Raju, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor.

Six JKAS Officers Transferred to New Assignments

A separate government order has notified the transfer and fresh posting of six JKAS officers, with immediate effect. The changes involve district administration, the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.

The officers and their revised assignments are:

Firdous Ahmad Qadri: Transferred from his position as Tehsildar, Bandipora, and appointed SDM, Karnah-Tangdhar.

Key Administrative Departments Under New Arrangements

The latest reshuffle redistributes responsibilities across several strategically important departments. Shailendra Kumar’s additional charge of Agriculture Production and Anil Kumar Singh’s responsibility for Power Development bring two major sectors under revised administrative arrangements. Vikramjit Singh will oversee the Mining Department in addition to his existing assignment.

The appointments of Mir Tariq Ali and Mohammad Akbar Wani also mark changes in the leadership of the Civil Aviation and Forest, Ecology and Environment departments, respectively. Meanwhile, Leena Padha’s additional responsibility for the Skill Development Mission expands her existing administrative portfolio.

At the district level, the JKAS transfers affect Baramulla, Marh, Padder and Karnah-Tangdhar, while the appointment at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board brings a change in its administrative leadership.

All transfers and postings have been made with immediate effect. The additional departmental responsibilities will remain in force until further orders, wherever specified.

The reshuffle is aimed at reallocating administrative responsibilities and ensuring continuity in the functioning of key departments and district-level institutions across Jammu and Kashmir.
