In a key administrative reshuffle, the Madhya Pradesh government has transferred three senior IAS officers, appointing Dhananjay Singh Bhadoria as the new Divisional Commissioner of Jabalpur. The decision came shortly after Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s visit to the city on Friday.
Mr. Bhadoria, a 2006-batch IAS officer, replaces Abhay Kumar Verma, whose retirement on April 30 left the post vacant for over a week. Prior to this, Bhadoria served as Commissioner of the Scheduled Caste Development Department and Managing Director of the State Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation.
Sanket S. Bhondve to Head Urban Administration and Development
In another significant appointment, 2007-batch IAS officer Sanket S. Bhondve has been named Commissioner of the Urban Administration and Development Department. He recently returned to the state cadre after completing his central deputation in Delhi.
With this posting, the additional responsibility previously held by the Chief Minister’s Secretary, Sibi Chakraborty, will be relinquished. However, Chakraborty will continue to manage the Building Development Corporation.
Meenakshi Singh Takes Over Scheduled Caste Development Department
Meenakshi Singh, currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department, has been entrusted with additional charge as Commissioner of the Scheduled Caste Development Department, succeeding Bhadoria.
Strategic Appointments Amid Administrative Concerns
This reshuffle comes at a time when administrative delays—particularly the unfilled commissioner post in Jabalpur—were drawing attention. The appointments are viewed as an effort to reinforce governance and improve operational efficiency in key departments.
By placing experienced officers in critical positions, the state government aims to accelerate development efforts, streamline urban planning, and strengthen welfare program implementation.
