In a minor administrative reshuffle, the Odisha government has transferred three senior IAS officers, enabling key departmental changes and facilitating a central deputation.
1996-batch IAS officer Vir Vikram Yadav, who had been serving as Principal Secretary of the Works Department, has been relieved to take up his new role as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) at the Centre.
In his place, Sanjay Kumar Singh, a 1997-batch officer and the current Principal Secretary of the Rural Development Department, has been appointed the new Principal Secretary to the Works Department. Singh has also been entrusted with additional charges as Principal Secretary of the Information and Public Relations Department and the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department, as per the General Administration Department’s notification.
Yamini Sarangi, a 2008-batch IAS officer, will take over from Singh as the Principal Secretary to the Rural Development Department. She will continue to serve as Commissioner of Commercial Taxes and GST and retain her additional role as Special Secretary to the Finance Department.
These transfers are aimed at maintaining continuity in governance and reinforcing the administrative framework as Odisha progresses with its development agenda.
