Ashok Kumar Meena Assigned Additional Charge as Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change

The Government of India has approved the temporary assignment of Shri Ashok Kumar Meena, IAS, as Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change from April 15 to April 24, 2026, during the leave of Shri Tanmay Kumar.

The Competent Authority has granted its approval for the assignment of additional responsibilities pertaining to the office of Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

This temporary charge has been entrusted to Shri Ashok Kumar Kaluaram Meena, IAS (Odisha: 1993), who presently serves as Secretary, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.

The arrangement shall remain in effect from 15 April 2026 to 24 April 2026, covering the period during which Shri Tanmay Kumar, IAS (Rajasthan: 1993), the regular incumbent of the post, is on sanctioned leave.

Through this order, the Ministry ensures continuity in leadership and administrative oversight of critical environmental, forestry, and climate change matters during the temporary absence of the designated Secretary.
