Nidhi Chhibber Assigned Additional Charge as CEO of NITI Aayog Following Completion of B.V.R. Subrahmanyam’s Tenure
The Competent Authority has approved the assignment of additional charge of the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), NITI Aayog, to Ms. Nidhi Chhibber, IAS (CG:1994). She is presently serving as Director General of the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO) at NITI Aayog.
The additional responsibility will take effect upon the completion of the tenure of Shri B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, IAS (CG:1987) (Retd.), on February 24, 2026. Ms. Chhibber will discharge the functions of CEO until the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post or until further orders are issued, whichever is earlier.
An Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1994 batch from the Chhattisgarh cadre, Ms. Chhibber has been overseeing key evaluation and monitoring functions within NITI Aayog through the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office. Her assignment to the additional charge of CEO is aimed at ensuring continuity in leadership at the government’s premier public policy think tank following the conclusion of Shri Subrahmanyam’s tenure.
Shri B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, a 1987-batch IAS officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, demits office upon completion of his term, paving the way for interim administrative arrangements until a full-time CEO is appointed.
