Senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Nishant Verma (1999 batch) has been appointed as Joint Chief Executive Officer of the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) in New Delhi. His appointment comes as part of a central deputation, and he is expected to serve in the role for the next few years.
Rahul to Handle Additional Responsibilities Temporarily
In the meantime, IFS officer Rahul, known for his prominent role in the Corbett case, has been assigned Mr. Verma’s responsibilities starting June 30. He will oversee forest fire and disaster management, in addition to his existing charge of CCF Monitoring, Evaluation, and IT.
Departmental sources indicate that these additional responsibilities may soon be permanently allocated to another CCF-rank officer, following deliberations in the upcoming Civil Services Board (CSB) meeting.
