In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Odisha Government has promoted 16 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to the rank of Additional Secretary across several key departments. All of these officers were previously serving as Joint Secretaries, and with this promotion, they will now take on greater responsibilities to enhance governance and improve public service delivery.
The promotion order was issued on May 15, 2025, by the General Administration and Public Grievance (GA & PG) Department. The move is aimed at strengthening inter-departmental coordination and boosting administrative efficiency in critical sectors such as Forest & Environment, Fisheries, Revenue & Disaster Management, Home, Water Resources, Housing & Urban Development, Parliamentary Affairs, Energy, Rural Development, Excise, Food Supplies, Women & Child Development, and Education.
