Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government announces large-scale administrative changes across the state
In a major administrative overhaul, the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has transferred eight IAS officers and nine PCS officers with immediate effect. This move is part of a significant bureaucratic reshuffle aimed at improving governance and operational efficiency across departments.
Key IAS Transfers
Alok Shekhar (IAS, 1994 batch)
Currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner (Cooperation) and Additional Chief Secretary (Home Affairs), and acting as the Nodal Officer for Criminal Law implementation, Shekhar has now also been assigned the portfolio of Additional Chief Secretary (Finance). With this, he relieves Krishan Kumar (IAS) of the additional charge.
Dhirendra Kumar Tiwari (IAS, 1994 batch)
Previously Additional Chief Secretary (Parliamentary Affairs), Tiwari now takes over as:
Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner, Excise,
Additional Chief Secretary, Good Governance & IT, and
Additional Chief Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs.
He replaces Vikas Pratap (IAS) in these key roles.
Amandeep Kaur-II (IAS, 2012 batch)
Serving as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Hoshiarpur, she has now been appointed as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development), Amritsar, replacing Amit Sareen (PCS).
Kanchan (IAS, 2020 batch)
She will continue as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Bathinda, and will now additionally serve as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Bathinda, replacing Ajay Arora (IAS).
Key PCS Transfers
Amit Sareen (PCS, 2012 batch)
Former Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development), Amritsar, he has now been appointed as Joint Secretary, Defence Services Welfare.
