Shashank Mani Tripathi Shifted to Ministry of Home Affairs in Lateral Shift

Parijat Tripathi

Shashank Mani Tripathi, a 2015-batch IAS officer from the AGMUT cadre, has been transferred from the Ministry of Cooperation to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), where he will now serve as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the same rank of Deputy Secretary.

Tripathi’s reassignment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), based on a recommendation by the Civil Services Board. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) formalized the decision through an official order issued on Saturday.

Mr. Tripathi had begun his central deputation on August 31, 2024, and will now serve in the Ministry of Home Affairs until August 30, 2028, marking the completion of his four-year tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme, unless modified by a subsequent order.

This lateral move is part of the government’s broader initiative to streamline and enhance administrative efficiency across crucial ministries by strategically repositioning capable officers.
