UP: Laxmi Singh Takes Stern Action in Gautam Budh Nagar, Suspends Officers Over Crime Control Lapses

In a decisive move to tighten law and order, Gautam Budh Nagar Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, a 2000-batch IPS officer, suspended and removed several police officials on Friday night for negligence in controlling crime during the months of May and June.

 Late-Night Crime Review Uncovers Major Lapses

The crackdown followed a crime review meeting held at 10 PM, where Ms. Singh assessed the crime prevention performance of various police stations. The review revealed that multiple police units had underperformed and failed to effectively curb rising criminal activity.

 Suspensions & Removals Ordered

Two police station in-charges were relieved of their duties, and six outpost in-charges were suspended due to their continued failure in controlling local crime. Departmental proceedings have also been recommended against them.

 Key Transfers and Attachments

Inspector Raghvendra Singh, SHO of Expressway Police Station, has been shifted to the Reserve Training Centre (RTC), where he will now assist with law and justice implementation, training on new criminal laws, and departmental reforms.

Vipin Kumar, SHO of Knowledge Park PS, has been recalled to headquarters and is expected to be relieved of his current duties soon.

 Show-Cause Notices & Strict Warnings

SHOs of Dankaur, Rabupura, Knowledge Park, and Ecotech-3 have been issued show-cause notices and stern warnings to improve their performance or face disciplinary action.

 Transfer Policy in Action

Following the department’s transfer policy, officers who have completed their tenure in Gautam Budh Nagar are being shifted out, while fresh postings are being made from outside districts. The Commissioner has instructed the DCPs of all three zones to monitor weekly crime control progress and enforce strict accountability.

 Commissioner’s Message: No Tolerance for Negligence

Commissioner Laxmi Singh has made it clear that laxity in duty will not be tolerated. She urged all police officers to adopt a proactive approach to policing and ensure robust law enforcement across the district.
