Second List: 24 IAS Officers Transferred, 10 DMs Replaced
On Monday evening, the government released its second list of transfers, involving 24 IAS officers, including eight women officers. The reshuffle resulted in the replacement of DMs in 10 districts, adding to the sweeping changes initiated a day earlier.
Key appointments include:
Shashank Tripathi, shifted from DM Barabanki, appointed as DM Ayodhya.
Ishan Pratap Singh, earlier Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, appointed DM Barabanki.
Nikhil Tikaram Funde, moved from DM Ayodhya to Special Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Earlier, at around 1:00 AM on Sunday, the government had issued its first list, transferring 40 IAS officers, including DMs of 15 districts and five Chief Development Officers (CDOs).

The transfer of Badrinath Singh followed a mine collapse in Sonbhadra that claimed three lives, reportedly due to administrative negligence.

Three Joint Magistrates were promoted as CDOs:
Utkarsh Dwivedi → CDO Shahjahanpur
Abhinav J Jain → CDO Kanpur Nagar
Diksha Joshi → CDO Sitapur
Women Officers in Key Roles
The reshuffle also emphasized women’s leadership in administration:
Durga Shakti Nagpal appointed Divisional Commissioner, Devipatan.
New women DMs include Kavita Meena (Hapur), Isha Priya (Ambedkar Nagar), Annapurna Garg (Shravasti), Saranjit Kaur Broka (Raebareli), and Nidhi Gupta Vats (Fatehpur).
With these appointments, the total number of women DMs in Uttar Pradesh has risen to 12.
Strategic Significance of Ayodhya Posting
The appointment of Shashank Tripathi as DM Ayodhya is seen as a strategically important move, given the district’s prominence ahead of upcoming elections. Tripathi is regarded as a trusted aide of the Chief Minister.
