Ravi Kumar M R Appointed Deputy Commissioner of Kolar
Among the major changes announced by the state government is the appointment of Ravi Kumar M R (IAS:2012:Karnataka) as the new Deputy Commissioner of Kolar district.
Before this transfer, Ravi Kumar was serving as Commissioner, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Bengaluru. In his new assignment, he will take over charge from August 1, 2026, succeeding Dr. Ravi M R, IAS, who is set to retire on July 31, 2026, after attaining the age of superannuation.
As Deputy Commissioner, Ravi Kumar will head the district administration and coordinate the implementation of government policies across various departments. His responsibilities will include overseeing development projects, monitoring welfare schemes, supervising revenue administration, coordinating disaster management efforts, and ensuring effective implementation of state and central government initiatives.
The Deputy Commissioner also plays a vital role in maintaining coordination among different government agencies, monitoring law and order in consultation with the district police, conducting elections, managing land administration, and resolving issues concerning public grievances.

Rahul Ratnam Pandey Appointed Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation
Another significant decision in the reshuffle is the appointment of Rahul Ratnam Pandey (IAS:2018:Karnataka) as the Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation.
Pandey has been transferred from his previous post as Managing Director of Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (KSMSCL), Bengaluru. His appointment takes effect immediately.
He replaces Ravichandra Nayak, KAS, who has been transferred by the state government as part of the latest administrative exercise.
As Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation, Rahul Ratnam Pandey will be responsible for the overall administration of one of Karnataka’s most prominent municipal corporations. Mangaluru serves as a major commercial, educational, industrial, and port city on India’s western coast, making the assignment particularly significant.
His responsibilities will include supervision of urban infrastructure projects, sanitation management, solid waste disposal, public health initiatives, water supply, road maintenance, property tax administration, urban planning, and implementation of various civic welfare programmes.

The Karnataka Government has also issued fresh posting orders for A R Ravi, who had been awaiting a new assignment.
Before receiving his latest posting, A R Ravi was serving as Joint Director in the Directorate of Economics and Statistics. He has now been appointed as the Managing Director of Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (KSMSCL), Bengaluru.
He succeeds Rahul Ratnam Pandey, who has now moved to Mangaluru as Municipal Commissioner.
The appointment places A R Ravi at the helm of one of Karnataka’s most important healthcare support institutions.
KSMSCL Plays a Critical Role in Karnataka’s Healthcare System
The Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation Limited serves as the state’s central procurement and logistics agency for public healthcare institutions.
The corporation is responsible for procuring medicines, medical equipment, surgical supplies, laboratory materials, and other healthcare essentials required by government hospitals and health centres across Karnataka.
Apart from procurement, KSMSCL also manages storage, quality assurance, inventory management, and timely distribution of medical supplies to healthcare institutions throughout the state.
