Madhya Pradesh Transfers 5 IAS, 4 IPS Officers; Sagar and Dewas Collectors, SPs Replaced

The Madhya Pradesh government has transferred five IAS officers and four IPS officers in a major administrative reshuffle following a cabinet meeting. The changes include new Collectors for Sagar, Dewas and Seoni districts, along with new Superintendents of Police (SPs) for Sagar and Dewas.

The reshuffle comes in the aftermath of a spurious liquor tragedy in Sagar district, where 13 people reportedly died after consuming poisonous liquor. Following the incident, the state government has removed Sagar Collector Pratibha Pal and Superintendent of Police Anurag Sujania from their district assignments.

Under the latest orders, Dilip Kumar Yadav, a 2014-batch IAS officer, has been appointed the new Collector of Sagar. Yadav was previously serving as Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation. Pratibha Pal, a 2012-batch IAS officer, has been transferred to the same corporation as its new Managing Director.

The reshuffle also affects Dewas and Seoni. Neha Meena, who was serving as Seoni Collector, has been appointed Collector of Dewas, replacing Rituraj. Rituraj has been posted as Deputy Secretary in the General Administration Department at the Mantralaya in Bhopal. Anju Arun Kumar, formerly Deputy Secretary in the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, has been appointed the new Collector of Seoni.

Changes have also been made in the police administration. Sanjeev Kumar Sinha has been appointed SP of Sagar, while Aditya Mishra will take charge as SP of Dewas. The outgoing district police chiefs, Anurag Sujania and Puneet Gehlot, have been transferred to the Police Headquarters in Bhopal as Assistant Inspectors General of Police.

Pratibha Pal Transferred from Sagar to State Tourism Corporation

Pratibha Pal, a 2012-batch IAS officer, has been transferred from her position as Collector of Sagar district and appointed Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation.

Pal assumed charge as Sagar Collector on April 10, 2026, and served in the district for approximately seven months. Her transfer follows the spurious liquor tragedy that reportedly claimed 13 lives, after which the government changed the district’s administrative leadership.

In her new assignment, Pal will head the state tourism development corporation, moving from district administration to the management of the state’s tourism organisation.

The transfer is part of a broader reshuffle involving key administrative and police positions across Madhya Pradesh. The government has appointed new officers to lead the affected districts while assigning the outgoing officials responsibilities in other departments and at police headquarters.

Dilip Kumar Yadav Appointed New Sagar Collector

Dilip Kumar Yadav, a 2014-batch IAS officer, has been appointed Collector of Sagar. Before the latest transfer, he was serving as Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation.

Yadav had previously served as Indore Municipal Commissioner but was removed from that position following a contaminated-water incident in the city. He was subsequently appointed Managing Director of the state tourism corporation.

With his new posting, Yadav returns to district administration as the senior administrative officer in Sagar. His responsibilities will include overseeing district-level governance, coordinating with government departments and monitoring the delivery of public services and implementation of government programmes.

His appointment follows the transfer of Pratibha Pal after the liquor-related tragedy. The change places a new officer at the head of the district administration amid heightened attention following the reported deaths.

Neha Meena Replaces Rituraj as Dewas Collector

The government has also changed the administrative leadership of Dewas district. Neha Meena, a 2014-batch IAS officer who was serving as Collector of Seoni, has been transferred to Dewas as its new Collector. She replaces Rituraj, a 2015-batch IAS officer who has been shifted to the state secretariat.

Rituraj has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the General Administration Department at the Mantralaya in Bhopal. The transfer moves him from district administration to a state-level departmental assignment.

As Dewas Collector, Meena will oversee the district administration, coordinate with various government departments and monitor the implementation of development programmes and public welfare initiatives. The appointment forms part of the wider reshuffle involving district Collectors and senior police officers in Madhya Pradesh.

Anju Arun Kumar Appointed Collector of Seoni

Anju Arun Kumar, who was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, has been appointed Collector of Seoni district. She will take over the district administration following Neha Meena’s transfer to Dewas. Her appointment moves her from a departmental role in the state secretariat to a district-level administrative position.

As Collector, Kumar will be responsible for coordinating government departments, overseeing public administration and monitoring the implementation of state programmes in Seoni. The changes in Seoni and Dewas are among the five IAS transfers covered by the latest order.

Anurag Sujania Shifted After Sagar Liquor Tragedy

The government has also reshuffled the police leadership in Sagar district following the spurious liquor incident. Anurag Sujania, a 2014-batch IPS officer who was serving as Sagar Superintendent of Police, has been transferred to the Police Headquarters in Bhopal as Assistant Inspector General of Police.

His transfer comes after the incident in which 13 people reportedly died following the consumption of spurious liquor. The government has changed both the district Collector and the SP as part of the latest administrative reshuffle.

Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, a 2016-batch IPS officer, has been appointed the new SP of Sagar. Before his transfer, Sinha was serving with the 14th Battalion of the Special Armed Force in Gwalior.

Sinha will now lead the district police, overseeing law-and-order arrangements and police administration in Sagar.

Puneet Gehlot Transferred; Aditya Mishra to Head Dewas Police

The police reshuffle also includes changes in Dewas district.

Puneet Gehlot, a 2017-batch IPS officer who was serving as Superintendent of Police of Dewas, has been transferred to the Police Headquarters in Bhopal as Assistant Inspector General of Police.

Aditya Mishra, who was serving as SP of Balaghat, has been appointed the new SP of Dewas. He will assume responsibility for the district police following Gehlot’s transfer.

The appointments bring new police leadership to both Sagar and Dewas. Meanwhile, Sujania and Gehlot will take up their new assignments at the state police headquarters.
