CCIT: Khitesh Gupta Appointed JCIT in Principal CCIT Office, Delhi

Khitesh Gupta, a 2014-batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS-IT), has been appointed as Joint Commissioner of Income Tax (Officer on Special Duty) in the office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for the Delhi region.

With nearly a decade of experience in the Government of India, Mr. Gupta brings significant expertise to his new role.

The Income Tax Department (ITD), functioning under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, is the key agency for direct tax administration in India. Supervised by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the department is tasked with enforcing direct tax laws, primarily the Income-tax Act, 1961. It also oversees the implementation of other legislations such as the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Act, 1988, and the Black Money (Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets) and Imposition of Tax Act, 2015.
