One IPS and two PPS officers have been entrusted with additional responsibilities in Punja lately.
In the aftermath of significant developments within the Vigilance Bureau — including the suspension of SSP Harpreet Singh Mander (Jalandhar Range) and AIG Swarndeep Singh (Flying Squad) — the Punjab Government has announced new appointments, assigning additional charges to one IPS and two PPS officers.
Harmandeep Singh Hans, a 2015-batch IPS officer currently serving as Joint Director (Crime) in the Vigilance Bureau, has been entrusted with additional responsibility as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of the Flying Squad.
Additionally, Digvijay Kapil, PPS, who currently serves as Joint Director (Grievances Cell), has been assigned further duties as Joint Director (Administration) and Joint Director (IVC and SU) within the Vigilance Bureau.
Meanwhile, Jagatpreet Singh, PPS, the current SSP of the Vigilance Bureau’s Ludhiana Range, has been given additional charge as SSP, Vigilance Bureau, Jalandhar Range.
These changes follow recent actions against the Vigilance Bureau’s former Chief Director, ADGP SPS Parmar, and the subsequent suspension of two senior officers. In response, ADGP Praveen Sinha, IPS, has been given additional charge as Chief Director, Vigilance Bureau, Punjab.
This reshuffle is viewed as part of the government’s broader strategy to bolster the Vigilance Bureau’s operations, aiming to enhance accountability and efficiency across the organization.
