Six IPS officers have been transferred in West Bengal; Kumar where Sunny Raj has been appointed new SP of Murshidabad.
In a major reshuffle of West Bengal’s police leadership, the state government on Friday transferred six Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to new assignments across different districts.
Among the key changes, Surya Pratap Yadav (IPS: 2011: WB), the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Murshidabad — a district recently affected by violence — has been shifted. He has now been appointed as the Commanding Officer (CO) of the Narayani Battalion in Cooch Behar.

Ananda Roy (IPS-SPS: 2011), previously SP of Jangipur, has been posted as CO of the 3rd Battalion, Eastern Frontier Rifles (EFR) in Salua.

Angshuman Saha (IPS-SPS: 2012), who was serving as CO of Narayani Battalion, Cooch Behar, has been transferred as CO of the Special Security Force (SSF) in Barrackpore.

Ashish Maurya (IPS: 2015: WB), Special Superintendent in the Intelligence Branch (IB), has been appointed as SP of Ranaghat.

Kumar Sunny Raj (IPS: 2017: WB), formerly SP of Ranaghat, takes over as the new SP of Murshidabad.

Shaw Kumar Amit (IPS: 2017: WB), Deputy Commissioner (Traffic – South) in Kolkata, has been posted as the new SP of Jangipur.
This reshuffle is part of the state government’s broader strategy to reinforce its police forces and improve law and order across key regions.
